Haiti earthquake

Dear all,
This is painstaking that at the hands of nature human abode is disturbed many times . Recent earthquake in Haiti has claimed thousand of lives. Those who survives are facing multi-faceted problems like shortage of drinking water, emergency treatment, medicine, food etc. Tens of thousands of people are homeless now.
Most people, also those who still have houses spent the couple of nights outside for fear of further earthquakes. People are camping on the streets and in the squares throughout the city with nothing to sit or sleep on; water is sold in plastic bags but will be getting scarce in a few days. The population of Martissant requests health assistance but also water, food supplies and shelter are urgently needed. The same is valid for the other areas assessed by Concern, save the chjildren and other aid agencies report same needs from their areas. Bodies are everywhere: in houses and on the streets. People are covering them with sheets or plastic sheets or just covered with rugs. Some bodies are left uncovered.
I was watching BBC, CNN and Al Jajira television channel and stricken.
We, in Dhaka, Bangladesh is in the same risks. I am thinking what would happen if earthquake strikes us. There are 20 million people. Most of the buildings didn't comply with the building code.
America, Britain and most of the developed countries are coming with their aids to support the victims. Bangladesh government has also planned to do something for emergency support to Haiti's victims.
Now I am urging to all of you to come forward to support the earthquake victims of Haiti whatever you do have or whatever you can.
Look forward to get your response.

  2. Hi, I am sorry about the earthquake and agree that we should help the people in need. We, Georgians, experienced a terrible earthquake several years ago. So I know how ot feels....

By the way, a tremendous charity concert was held in Tbilisi yesterday which finished with a telemarathon. A lot of people took part and pooled money for the people of Haiti..
